Forged Bell Mug - VIP

4" H x 4" Dia (16 Ounces) (Surface Area of all paintable sides: 151 sq. in.): The Forged Bell Mug’s wide base, easy handle, handmade look, and generous proportions give it a rugged and timeless design perfect for sipping a dark roast coffee at your work desk! The hand-forged texture gives off an antique style, and it makes the perfect gift for the historian and classically natured in your life! The idea of a bell often conjures images of The Liberty Bell and its famous crack, but that and most bells are cast, not forged. Casting a bell involves completely melting what is called Bell Metal (a mixture of copper and tin) and pouring it into a mold. Forging a bell is accomplished by heating the metal to deformity and shaping it via hammers or machines. This is what inspired the design of the Forged Bell Mug! Its unique exterior texture is meant to mimic shapes left by the hand-hammering process! When painting the Forged Bell Mug, consider using some Metallic paints to achieve that hammered metal exterior! Or, perhaps, allow the Forged Bell Mug shape and texture to speak for itself, and create abstract shapes and vivid colors to let the form shine through!

Finish options and important paint considerations:
When choosing your paints and finish options, please keep the following information in mind:

1 oz of paint covers approximately 166 sq. inches.  

Extra Glossy Finish: 
-Our proprietary solution to achieve a kiln-fired, glass-like appearance that is also food-safe when applied properly. 
-Required for items that need to be food-safe
-The entire piece MUST be covered in acrylic paint before applying this finish. The finish will not adhere to unpainted bisque. Please calculate the amount of paint you will need for a base coat and order accordingly. 

Satin Finish:
A satin, non-food-safe finish appropriate for all pieces where food-safety is not required.  A base coat is not required, though it is recommended.
